Whew, this one was a doozy. What started as an innocent endeavor turned into a multi-year hunt for a simple way to explain something new and exciting about the Chinese Zodiac (although "Zodiac" is a somewhat misleading, it's closer to cosmology).
The "five phases" described in this chart have a long and complicated formulation and interaction that takes a wholly non-western mind to fully comprehend.
This chart succeeds at introducing the concept and giving some cultural context about the Chinese Zodiac.
